My laptop is sick. My laptop is sick in a let’s-reinstall-Windows kind of way. Also, to my surprise, the XP “reinstall” CD left me with a version of Windows that looks utterly unlike what was imaged on the hard drive when I first bought my laptop. If you are in the Seattle area and love nothing more than playing with operating systems and device drivers, drop me a line.
(Which sort of reminds me of why I’m relieved not to be a computer programmer anymore. You quickly get tired of, “Oh, you’re a computer programmer? Perfect…you can tell me how to fix my modem/get rid of these pop-ups/get Windows to recognize my scanner/et cetera.” Um, no. No, I probably can’t. This is worse than asking a doctor at a party why your feet hurt. This is like asking a dentist at a party why your feet hurt.)
Leaving for Portland in a few hours. Oregonians, come by the Clackamas Town Center Barnes & Noble tonight at seven and say hi.
