Bumbershoot, Seattle’s big Labor Day weekend music-and-arts festival, just announced their books “Words & Ideas” lineup for this year, and I’m one of the authors who will be speaking! They also announced the music lineup and OMG Skrillex is going to be there! We’re both set for Monday–oh no what if we’re on head to head!?!
Besides the normal book chat and Q&A and whatnot, I’m going to be hosting a trivia night, with questions drawn from the last half-century of music and arts (the Seattle Center, which hosts Bumbershoot, turns 50 this year, which is why the Space Needle is currently this appalling color). Everyone who attends will get to play, and there will be cool prizes for our lucky finalists and grand prize winner. Tickets appear to be on sale now. They haven’t even announced Comedy and Film yet and this is already a great lineup. John Waters, the Futurama writers, the Vaselines, Jane’s Addiction, Best Coast, the Jayhawks, Blitzen Trapper and so on and so on.
