The place to talk. "On topic"? "Off topic"? We make no such petty distinctions here.

Pic Tac Toe: Hanson Times Two

I started making this:

And it eventually led to this (click to see a much bigger version):

There is one very specific theme for all 9 "squares".

The top row and the bottom row are special. In my mind, they share two themes.

The bottom two rows also share a theme.

You will need to click and zoom to see the full size image (to be able to read the words).

Hanson. You actually did it.

Some answers and thoughts on the first puzzle:
Spoiler: show
Top Row: PREDATOR (animal predator, predator truck, To Catch a Predator)
Middle Row: SURFBOARDS
Bottom Row: LONG LUSTROUS HAIR?? (on Elsa, Miranda, pick a Hanson)

Left Column: DISNEY LOGO
Middle Column: TRUCKS
Right Column: HANSEN/HANSON

159 Diagonal: BROTHERS (Brother Bear, Wilson brothers, Hanson brothers)
357 Diagonal: "CATCH" (To Catch a Predator, Catch a Wave, Catch Catch)

Some answers and thoughts on the second puzzle:
Spoiler: show
Overall theme: SIBLING BANDS

Top Row: "BROTHERS" IN BAND NAME; also -OWN (Lowdown, Showdown, Uptown)
Middle Row: YELLOW/SUN DRENCHED ALBUM COVERS??
Bottom Row: YELLOW; also -OWN (Sundown, Uptown, Down)

Left Column: THREE BROTHERS?? (also a cousin for the Beach Boys and Kings of Leon)
Middle Column: (A)LIVE
Right Column: META-DIRECTIONAL?? (Up, Middle, Down)

159 Diagonal: FIRST/NUMBER ONE??
357 Diagonal: TIME; also -OWN (Uptown, Own, Sundown)

Yes! You've got them all except the left column of the album covers.

For the first puzzle:
Spoiler: show
Yes, I was thinking "long blonde hair" for the bottom row.

There is a second, not-quite-as-good theme: -SON... Hanson, Jessica Simpson, and Jason... Bateman who voiced the fox.

For the second puzzle:

Spoiler: show
Yes, the overall theme is sibling bands. Specifically, there must be at least three siblings. (Carpenters did not make the cut.)

For the top row, you said -OWN, which is an efficient way to put it. I was thinking "rhyming": lowdown, showdown, uptown.

The bottom row shares this "rhyming" theme: sundown, uptown, down-to-the-ground.

The top row and bottom row also share a theme of simply "up/down". (Isley Brothers double dipped.)

As you spotted, the middle row and bottom row also share a theme: yellow.

Why are so many brother-band album covers yellow-orange? There were two or three other Jackson 5 albums that qualified. (Middle row is truly yellow-orange.)

For diagonals, yes, I was thinking:
159 Diagonal: FIRST/ONE
357 Diagonal: TIME

Middle column is indeed "LIVE"... a word which of course is easy to find on many album covers, but these are not "live recordings". That kind of LIVE would have been cheating, I decided.

And yes, the right column, I was thinking "describes their position in the puzzle: up, middle, down", and again your terminology was more efficient: META-DIRECTIONAL

I was happy with the meta-directional theme, but not as happy as "people turning away to look at someone named Keith".
