Flash! NewsCorp Attacks Jennings AGAIN

Postby WendellWit » Sat Aug 12, 2006 1:39 pm

Last time it was the New York Post. This time it's on Nooch's Blog at FoxSports.com, in combination with attacking Floyd Landis...
In fact, the resemblance between Landis and former Jeopardy ace Ken Jennings is, in my humble opinion, eerie. And if you saw Ken Jennings on a bike, I doubt that you would be particularly inclined to think, “Now, that guy has way too much testosterone in his system!”

I could've put this in the Ken lookalikes thread, but I think this double insult needs to have the cold hard light of Internet Message Board-ery focused on it.

Don't you think you're overreacting a bit? Some guy writing a small-time, unaffiliated blog took a tiny potshot at KJ. Geez, lighten up.

::sarcasm meter explodes::

Come to think of it, though, I've never seen Landis and Jennings in the same room at the same time...

I hope all of you will join Ken and myself as we begin our National crusade to convince the Web Standards organizations to fully impliment the <SARCASM> tag in HTML and BBCode.

Yeah, but the blog is hosted by FoxSports. If I found somebody on MySpace (also owned by NewsCorp) were to write something nasty about Ken (and most MySpacers are too dumb to even know who he is*), I'd blame NewsCorp. Why? Because it is my personal goal in life to become a major annoyance to NewsCorp in any way possible, even more than Keith Olbermann (who only targets its news outlets and not the FOX network, since he inexplicably likes "Family Guy").

*that should be enclosed in <SARCASM> tags

It took me three-and-a-half minutes to figure that joke out. I thought the second half of your statement referrenced something previously mentioned when it was only referring to the first half of the statement. D'oh! D'oh! D'oh! I fear I may be beyond challenging your Village Idiot title (I had previously qualified as Neighborhood Numbskull), and be on my way toward Suburban Simpleton, Metropolitan Moron (<JUSTKIDDING>okay, metsfan001 may be ahead of me there </JUSTKIDDING>), Burrough Blockhead, District Dolt (a title usually held by Congresspeople), or even County Nincompoop (does being a nincompoop require you to have an income?). BTW, the previous County Nincompoop shared an apartment with the Coward of the County. Neither of them got out much, but for different reasons. ("No, the front door is over THERE! No, I won't walk you to it, I'm scared!")

ProfJohn, if this is an "act", it's an act that is illegal in 32 states.

"And we're called... The Aristocrats!"

Besides, most audiences won't appreciate my three-and-a-half minute pauses. It takes a lot of preparation to be spontaneous. (Did I previously link to this? Warning, contains censored but obvious swear word.)

Pssst... I'm whispering because it's supposed to be private. The people who created the blogging tool Movable Type and now run Live Journal are developing a new social site that will be as easy to use as MySpace but without all the ugliness and Rupert Murdock. It's got a real easy name - VOX.COM - and is now being Beta tested by invitation only. How I got invited is somebody else's problem, but I am THE wendell.vox.com there. I've barely had five minutes to play with it, and don't have any invites yet to pass along, but I think this is gonna be BIG. And GOOD. And BIGGOOD. MySpace will never know what hit it. Bwahahaha.

Actually, Grease is the word. (And before that, the bird was the word.) But I wouldn't expect you to know that, being Village Idiot.

Also, you might not have known that, even when our Forum moderator is on the road promoting Ken Jennings®™ Brand Disposable Razors and Toaster Pastries, there is a hard-and-fast rule here:
NO SHOUTING!
Thank you.

Also no running in the hallways.

Testosterone? You mean that stuff that makes every war a chemical war? Testosterone does not equal posing macho. Geesh.
