At a bar the other day, a friend asked me to name 10 actors who have appeared in two distinct trilogies-or-better.
We were able to come up with 11 between the two of us, but I imagine there are a number of others of which we forgot or were unaware. Also, voice actors count. And I don't think we need to be too picky on whether or not something is a true trilogy, as long as the actor is playing essentially the same role.

So, how many can we come up with on this message board? I'll get it started with a couple gimmes:

Harrison Ford: Star Wars (3); Indiana Jones (4)
Clint Eastwood: Dollars Films (3); Dirty Harry (5)

More low-hanging fruit:

Orlando Bloom is in LotR and Pirates. Hugo Weaving is in LotR and Matrix. Ian McKellen is in LotR and X-Men.

I'd be surprised if there aren't any Harry Potter actors on this list, but I can't think of any.

Tim Allen (The Santa Clause trilogy) will join the club when Toy Story 3 is released in 2010.

Lots of near misses:

John Rhys-Davies (LotR) was not in Temple of Doom
Bruce Willis (Die Hard, of course) was not in Look Who's Talking Now
Ice Cube (Friday) has yet to make a third installment of Barbershop or those really lame Are We There Yet movies (So sad, Ice. So sad.)

John Ratzenberger will be in Toy Story 3, but appeared only in Superman and Superman II.

Steve Guttenberg will qualify when the series crossover Father of the Groom (Three Dads and a Bride) comes out.

Then Steve Martin would need only defile Peter Sellers' memory once more to join the club.

Hey, does Godzilla count for his appearances in the Rodan and Mothra series? How about Jackie Chan for Police Story and Rush Hour?
