Here's the thing, genius: there are a whole bunch of folks I could introduce you to down South where I grew up who would be more than happy to assert that it's a "fact" that black men are lazy, stupid thieves who rape women. And that odious, horrific sentiment, by your own standard, wouldn't be racist simply because African American men represent the majority of inmates in our Mississippi prisons, and African American kids generally don't score as well as white kids on standardized tests.

I agree that the evil racism mores need to be banished from our society. Let's start by getting rid of the U.S. Census, affirmative action, and welfare, as they are all race-based/biased and therefore "hateful."

I know this is not That Kind Of Board; and furthermore, I've seen enough racially-based hatred in my own hometown that this is a passionate subject for me. So.... let me get this straight: I attack someone (with more vigor than was merited, to be sure, something I do regret) for making racial slurs. You come to his defense... why? Exactly? Because I was "unfair" to someone with racist views? Girl, please. And this is hypocritical how? The fundamental tenet of racism is "us" vs. "them." The census is statistics. It doesn't seek to separate, or make moralistic judgments; it merely counts. VirgeZ, however, thinks that white people between 16-30 are the laziest folks in the country. How can you possibly not see the difference between the two? Or did I miss the part where the 2000 census ranked one's work ethic?

VirgeZ made it abundantly clear he assesses people by race, gender, and age. You jumped to his defense. Have I ever once brought up your race, your gender, your age -- or even those characteristics of VirgeZ? Nope. The things upon which my low opinions of you and VirgeZ are based are your words and your actions. Nothing more, nothing less.

And that, dear friend, is what's supposed to happen. You make your decisions about the individual, based on the actions/words/behavior OF THE INDIVIDUAL -- not the color of their skin, or the reproductive organs they possess, or the god they worship -- or don't worship.

I am proud to be in the group VirgeZ declared as the laziest. It is my laziness that drives me to success. My laziness causes me to find shortcuts that will dramatically improve efficiency, bringing me (or my employer or my business) whatever I need quicker so I can resume being lazy. Laziness prompts innovation and technological advances. We have remote controls, cruise control, escalators, etc. because someone was lazy enough to find an alternative. One could argue that laziness makes us great.
