Sweet! That's a new one to me too. Perhaps not quite as good as "that dog won't hunt" among animal-esque adages, but I think I'll start using it anyway.

It comes from the thought that cricket is a very gentlemanly sport which is generally played with the greatest deal of sportsmanship.

Sweet! That's a new one to me too. Perhaps not quite as good as "that dog won't hunt" among animal-esque adages, but I think I'll start using it anyway.

That's a sweet expression, too - best said with a sweet tea at one's side. I've used it with a LOT of people who just plain didn't get it!
