It's Not Always Through Books or the Internet!

Maybe this should be in the other Forum, but since it's directly related to Tuesday Trivia...

Has anyone ever sat done & thought, "Wow! If I hadn't known So-and-So, I wouldn't know #4!" or something similar?

These last few weeks, I've had a lot of those moments. Had I not had a sorority sister who was ga-ga over a certain sports figure, I know I wouldn't have known #2 this week. A minor riot in 2002 made me aware of #1, an old boyfriend's taste in reading "gave" me #6, and my yearly soccer conventions gave me the answer to #3.

And that's just this week! Can the people relate?

Yeah, and I think those are the best kinds of trivia question: the kind that draws from that informal, nebulous outer boundary of knowledge. They're mysterious, yet a little familiar.

There's something uniquely pleasing about being rewarded for hanging on to that odd bit of knowledge. It's like the doohickey in the back of the junk drawer. You know, the one you're not even sure where it came from, but you hold on to anyway. When the time comes to finally use it, you can say, "Ha ha! I have just the thing right here!"

So now you know one reason why I'm playing Tuesday Trivia!
