The place to talk. "On topic"? "Off topic"? We make no such petty distinctions here.

Wordplay Wednesday

Two puzzles: NOT SO HARD and YES VERY HARD.

NOT SO HARD. Can you think of a food that becomes a synonym for “later” when it’s spelled backwards?

YES VERY HARD. I just wrote down a lower-case, seven-letter word–something you might consult with a lawyer about. I realized that if I added to the middle letter just the smallest of strokes, I would make a new word–something you might consult with a doctor about. What are the words?

Ok, I'll take the NOT SO HARD

How about... Won Ton?

Wow, that is correct! I was wondering if that one was going to be too vague to solve. Very nice.

"Won ton? O, no, not now!" is a palindrome.

If you add a small vertical line to the left edge of the middle letter (such that it appears as a separate letter, but with bad kerning), you can change patents into patients (at least in some typefaces).

I have the opposite of the YES, VERY HARD: I just wrote down a lower-case, seven-letter word–something you might consult with a doctor about. I realized that if I added to the middle letter just the smallest of strokes, I would make a new word–something you might consult with a lawyer about. What are the words?

HINT: A homonym of the thing you might talk to the lawyer about is something you could talk to a certain type of doctor about.

ANSWER: healing, hearing

You must not be an older man.

Problems with your prostate can lead to your estate going through probate.
