TV theme songs

Postby Whatsahoe » Tue Jun 12, 2012 8:24 pm

It's a very short list (2 at this point) but can you guys add any TV shows to this list based on a common theme in the theme song...

B.J. and the Bear (with Greg Evigan)
Alice (with Linda Lavin)

hint:
There could be multiple instances of the commonality for these songs...
Also, B.J. and the Bear is listed due to a updated version of the "commonality" which led me to think of other theme songs like this

All in the Family (with Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton)
Pepper Ann (with Kathleen Wilhoite)
The Brady Bunch (with Barry Williams, Maureen McCormick, Christopher Knight, Eve Plumb, Mike Lookinland, and Susan Olsen)

Is it just that the theme song is performed by the star(s) of the show, or is it more complicated than that?

Nope.
It's got nothing to do with that. It's more along the lines of something in the lyrics.

The Dukes of Hazzard theme is another one...as well as the theme to the "speed Racer" animated cartoon.

NOTE:
Eliminate all theme songs with no words

I'm stumped. Does the version of There's a New Girl in Town matter?

The Littlest Hobo qualifies, I believe.

And in the US, would Greatest American Hero and or Barretta qualify?

Answer in white below:

Any TV show whose theme song contains within its lyrics the title of another TV series

B.J. and the Bear (with Greg Evigan) "rollin down to DALLAS..."
Alice (with Linda Lavin) "there's a NEW GIRL in town..."

In that case, at least two of my answers still are correct, albeit for completely different reasons than I originally thought.

All in the Family (with Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton): "GUYS LIKE US, we had it made" (Guys Like Us was a UPN show in 1998)
Pepper Ann (with Kathleen Wilhoite): "Who's THAT GIRL, what's her name ..."

Joshua, you're three for three: The Brady Bunch mentions Family.
